EaglePicher Technologies, LLC FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EAGLEPICHER EMPLOYEES COMBINING FUN AND CHARITYJoplin, Missouri, October 10, 2003 - EaglePicher employees raised over $4,000 for the “Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States” at EaglePicher’s employee picnic in September. Vice President/General Manager of Advanced Power Systems Division, Louis “Lou” Lupo, along with picnic organizer Reba Buchovecky and charity coordinator Lisa Ball, presented a check for $4,113.80 to Ronald McDonald House Director Annette Thurston at the Ronald McDonald House on 3400 Jackson in Joplin. Over 1,000 employees and family members turned out for the first annual picnic held at the Boy Scout Camp in Diamond. The event was planned as a fun employee event that also would benefit the community. Lou Lupo commented on the exceptional community spirit and involvement by EaglePicher employees. “EaglePicher employees welcomed the opportunity to participate in an event that included family, fun, and the opportunity to help a truly worthy charity. The idea to turn an employee event into a fund-raising opportunity to benefit the community was their idea.” Over 15 employees worked to provide a family carnival atmosphere with a midway, bingo and inflatables for the children. The most popular activity was the “dunk booth” where eager employees repeatedly dunked seven managers and the President. Along with the Ronald McDonald monetary contribution, EaglePicher employees also brought 15 flats of food, which were donated, to the “Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States.” The leftover food from the picnic was donated to “The Lafayette House” a battered women’s shelter in Joplin.
