NEW VP OF OPERATIONS APPOINTED
FOR EAGLEPICHER TECHNOLOGIES


JOPLIN, Missouri, June 9, 2003—EaglePicher Technologies, LLC has appointed Robert A. Carney as vice president of operations.  Carney will develop and optimize new and existing operating facilities for the entire Technologies group, particularly for the Government and Commercial Power Divisions.  Carney will also support production with joint ventures and licensing opportunities to ensure the manufacture of quality products under the EaglePicher name. 


He plans to achieve world-class operational performance throughout the Technologies Division by employing automation and well-known quality processes such as Six Sigma.  Carney will report to Craig Kitchen, president and CEO of EaglePicher Technologies and Lou Lupo, vice president and general manager of the Power Division.  He will be based in Joplin, Missouri.


Craig Kitchen stated, “Bob brings to EaglePicher over thirty years of domestic and international multi-site operations leadership, most recently as vice president of operations for the company, Textron/Collins and Aikman.   He successfully led this company to two consecutive Daimler Chrysler Gold Awards in 2000 and 2001; in 2002, they received Industry Week’s recognition as one of the ‘Ten Best Plants in North America’.  With this experience, Bob will be a valuable asset to us as we serve our customers through the ‘Application of Innovation’ at EaglePicher.” 

Carney is an experienced practitioner of Lean Manufacturing principles with certification in Six Sigma, APQP, QS9000, and ISO1400.  He received a BSBA from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA and holds an MBA from Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, PA.
