EaglePicher Pharmaceutical Services
For over thirty years, dating back to the days when it was part of Midwest Research Institute (MRI), EaglePicher Pharmaceutical Services has served the cancer research community by providing a wide range of chemical carcinogens and their metabolites. Under the direction of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), these compounds have been synthesized, characterized and distributed to research laboratories worldwide. The handling of such compounds requires tremendous care and expertise.
EaglePicher Pharmaceutical Services has translated this vast body of knowledge to the production of anti-cancer drugs and other high potency pharmaceuticals. Over the years, the company has worked with a wide range of pharmaceutical companies, both large and small, to develop these types of drugs. Hundreds of new drug candidates have been prepared for use in pre-clinical studies, toxicology studies, clinical trials and commercial use. The manufacturing of these drugs requires specially designed facilities and operating systems to ensure safe handling and to prevent cross-contamination with other drugs.

The High Level Containment facility in Harrisonville provides the rigorous controls necessary to develop and manufacture both new and existing anticancer drugs and other high potency compounds. This state-of-the-art plant is one of only a few facilities worldwide specifically designed to manufacture this class of drugs.
